1920 LADDER TRUCK

The truck is a 1920 Seagrave City Service Ladder Truck. It was purchased new by the Town of Athol in 1920 and served as the primary Ladder Truck until in 1941 when Athol purchased its first aerial truck, and the 1920 served as a backup until the 1950s. This 1920 truck was kept in storage for 20 years and then restored by the association in the 1970s and has been owned by the Athol Firefighters association ever since.

In 2022 The Athol Firefighters Association raised funds to have significant repair work done to the 1920 Seagrave as the motor was showing signs of wear and overall, the truck was in need of significant repairs. The truck was sent to Gaspers Automotive in Manchester Ct. who specializes in repairing antique fire apparatus.

After some additional repairs this year the 1920 Seagrave is ready to be used again for parades and other local events.
