Athol Fire Department has a position available for a Firefighter/Paramedic
The Athol Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic. Applicants who do not currently possess a Paramedic certification are encouraged to apply and will be given three (3) years from the date of hire to obtain their Paramedic certification. In addition, the Athol Fire Department will pay for the cost of a successful applicant's Paramedic tuition, as well as provide leave without loss of pay to attend classes, clinical rounds, and other requirements associated with the Paramedic program.

The Athol Fire Department is a combination Fire Department located in Central Massachusetts providing fire suppression, search & rescue, advanced life support, and specialized functions to the Town of Athol as well as our surrounding communities, responding to over 4,000 calls per year, over 34 square miles, with a population of over 13,000 people.
The Athol Fire Department is now a non-civil service fire department with compensation and benefits per collective bargaining agreement with the Athol Professional Firefighters Local 1751. Competitive salary, benefits, and CBA package.
All applicants must:

Possess a current licensed Massachusetts Emergency Medical Technician certification at the Basic or Advanced level

Have an active Massachusetts Driver’s License

Be over 18 years of age.

Be able to pass a Pass a Physical Ability test.

Be able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.

Be able to pass a background investigation.

Must be able to complete the Massachusetts Career Recruit Training Program within 1 year
